Well folks, this PhotoProject for 2008 has come to an end. This PhotoBlog of a year in my life has been quite a learning experience. I learned that my life is mostly boring! 2008 was a rough year and I didn't have as many opprotunities to post here as I would have liked. While this project forced me to take photos and reclaim my love of photography, it didn't always have the artistic angle I was looking for. It was fun though. Check out my PhotoProject for 2009: 'Voices in Focus.' A project that combines my love of photography and journalism.

july 24, 2008...giant flowers make me smile a lot!

so these roses (36 of them) got delivered to me at metropolis from some wonderful friends. they are crazy huge! i don't think i have ever seen roses this big. to give you an idea, there is a computer monitor behind them in this picture--and that printer isn't small.

they are so pretty and are opening so nicely like roses should.

i really like flowers.

may 12, 2008...a trip to the zoo!

on a beautiful day amy, carly, bill and i went to the brookfield zoo. this is the zoo where you pay to get in, but the animals are actually there--and seem to be healthy.

first, amy and i had to find our train. for a bit, we were looking for track 8, but all we could find was 9 and 7.

lets start with this--meanest. goose. ever.

and this--saddest donkey, named erik, ever!

then bill's favorite--the elephants!

this is the pretty bird that wishes he was a penguin. (i think i assume all the animals are "he" as a woman pointed out to me at the brown bear exhibit)

baby! baby and mama pictures...cute!

another baby and mama!

and this guy...who i think secretly likes to have his picture taken.

shortly after this picture, the lion broke out his top hat and cane and started singing the entire score to the lion king.

life is awkward when you're tall...

the fishes...

polar bear with attitude!

this bear simply wants some water...

while this one prefers to devour the knee cap of the zoo keeper (we decided his name was tim--you know, before he got eaten). brown bear--best animal ever! we were almost attacked--read about it here.

gayest. monkey. ever.

see you next time monkey!
